How IEA works:
- Team members in grades 6-12 compete during the school
year at regular season shows within a set region around
New York.
- Team members can compete at a total of five, regular
season shows to earn points to qualify to compete at Regional
finals; with the top riders and teams advancing to Zone Finals.
- The top finishers at Zones then move on to compete at
National Finals.
- Riders compete on the flat and over fences on horses provided
by the host team(s).
- Costs are kept to a minimum in order to ensure as many students
as are interested are able to join the team.
- All team members must be lessoning regularly with team practices
happening in between as well.
More about IEA & the Association:

- Since its inception, the organization has grown dramatically, reporting
600 members in its 2004-2005 season and growing to 1600 members in i
ts 2007-2008 season.
- Of those members, 300 qualified to compete at National Finals in 2008
where prizes and $125,000 in scholarship money was given away.
